Wednesday, February 3I've been pretty occupied lately. While I've wanted to draw, I've wanted to read/write/crochet even more. Yeah ...crochet. I'm half way through a Super Mushroom blanket. It's ok to laugh; everyone else already has.Now that I've satisfied my random literary/crafty urges, I've started back on another project of mine. I felt bad about not producing any art for the site, so I reworked a few panels from the first chapter into the odd couple you see to the right. Not my favoritest piece, but that's mostly because I hate drawing frilly-ass costumes. I suck at drawing bows, hats, pleats and I have no patience for details. But, since my resolution this year was to draw things I suck at... ... Hopefully the finished project will look better --much better-- than this. e. Sunday, January 10I've been reading a lot more than I've been drawing lately. I'd like to say it's for research purposes, but really it's because I'm a lazy ass who would rather read comics than practice drawing hands.I made it about half way through this manhwa called Muljoeun Hasukjib, when I got bored and started wondering what the main character would look like if I drew her. I tried emulating the original artist's style, but she ended up looking like an alien or something. I don't think I'm actually going to finish reading the series. I can only take so much drawn high school drama at a time. I'm going back to Billy Bat. e. Tuesday, January 05um... happy Tuesday?e. Sunday, January 03Second attempt at super-deformed. I got lazy and drew a giant acorn in front of her. I'm pretty sure her proportions are way off though.... She looks like Princess Sally's cousin. e. Saturday, January 02Chris and I both made art-related resolutions this year: he resolved to spend more time on each pic he did and I promised myself I'd work on drawing things I suck at.Take for instance super-deformed or "chibi" characters. I can't draw cute for crap. I get half way through and realize I've either drawn in too many details or left out something important. I also have a hard time figuring out what to do with the feet. I felt like drawing someone else's characters so I decided to practice on Neil's four horsemen. Last time I drew Death (also known as Kimmy) I gave her a hood. This time though the hood got in the way of the ears so I erased it, then forgot to draw it back in so now she's wearing a caplet. There are a dozen different things I don't like about this picture. Maybe I'll have better luck on the other three characters. e. Friday, January 01Happy New Years, peoples. I figured since I only update my site once a year I might as well get it over with.I've had a pretty severe case of artist's block, and today's picture is my attempt at breaking it.
